Location: Timișoara, Romania

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)

Salary: 20,000 – 22,000 RON per month (Fixed monthly amount)

You will be joining an innovative scale-up transforming the global trade of raw materials for life-science, nutrition, and healthcare industries. Operating in over 60 countries, our platform provides a high-tech infrastructure for secure, global trade. We are currently scaling our data capabilities to support high-impact AI features, including automated market intelligence and advanced RAG-based chatbots.

YOUR ROLE IN ALL THIS

Our client is looking for an autonomous Data Engineer to own the technical execution of their data value chain. You will be the engine behind the data, focusing on building and maintaining the pipes that power their business intelligence and market insights.

• Pipeline Ownership: Design, plan, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest external market data, prices, and news into the ecosystem.

• DataOps Excellence: Help architect the infrastructure around the data, including CI/CD, monitoring, and automated testing to ensure long-term stability and lineage.

• AI Integration: Support internal and client-facing AI projects, ranging from web-crawling engines for market sizing to integrating LLMs for user-facing chatbots.

• Business Enablement: Meet the data needs of Sales, Marketing, and Support teams to enable data-driven decisions across the organization.

• Code Quality: Write clean, production-ready Python code that serves as a benchmark for the technical team.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

• Experience: 4–5+ years in Software/Data Engineering, specifically building and maintaining scalable data systems.

• Python Mastery: The stack is Python-heavy. You should be highly comfortable writing complex logic and handling data processing.

• SQL Proficiency: Strong ability to navigate and manipulate relational databases fluently.

• Infrastructure Mindset: Knowledge of modern data infrastructure and frameworks. Today they use Dagster, Cloud Run, dbt, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Superset.

• Mindset: A technical / analytical mindset and the drive to diagnose and fix issues independently without hand-holding.

• Communication: Good English communication skills.
