Data Lake Developer

Role overview:
The Data Engineering & Analytics Data lake developer designs, develops and supports the data pipelines and analytics reporting supporting Business Intelligence solutions.

He covers topics related to Data Lake (projects and existing applications) : orchestrate the Big data platform and build the assets of the Data Lake in interfacing with the various business branches and technical teams.

Reporting line: Data Engineering & Analytics Manager
 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design & develop data pipelines. Manage the design and development of data pipelines inside the data lake. This includes the identification of all data required for analytics requirements, and ensuring through various tools (data lakes, ETL, scripting, data warehouses, etc.) that analytic data sources are populated to meet reporting & analytic needs.

  • Manage the design, development, and maintenance of ETL processes.

  • Manage the design, development and maintenance of data warehouses.

  • Manage data modelling services for structured and semi-structured data.

  • Monitor and improve ongoing data quality dimensions of completeness, correctness, timeliness. Perform data pipeline incident remediation and support.

  • Maintain existing data lake applications.

  • Ensures compliance with best practices and the validity of the architecture of information systems. Ensures the governance and monitors the performance of the change management systems and actions.

  • Interact with Infrastructure teams to ensure the performance of the application portfolio.

  • Work closely with the BP’s to organise, follow up and contribute to appraise business demands, propose solutions and engage with IT teams for implementation.

  • Coordinate and coach the Data & Integration teams and take all necessary actions to simplify, automate and improve sustainability

  • Assist project managers in their projects if needed.

  • Ensure a technology watch on his domain
     

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years' higher education – Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Audit, Risk Mitigation, Engineering or a related field .

  • 3+ years of practical experience in projects with Data Lake Platform (AWS technologies required)

  • 5+ years of practical experience in projects in application interface development and data integration

  • Extensive experience implementing, migrating, managing data lake/data warehouse implementations

  • Experience integrating Business systems and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Fluent or native English speaker, another native EU language is a plus
