Your Future Company:

A German multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company focused on tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges such as maintaining our health, feeding growing populations and slowing the rate of climate change. Looking for their next ambitious tax expert team-member to join their SSC hub in Barcelona, they offer a dynamic environment with a team of various nationalities working on high-quality standards.

Your responsibilities as a Tax Expert will be: 

  • Verifying and processing transactions including those with high levels of complexity
  • Ensuring fiscal quality of accounting data by performing checks and corrections as well as the monitoring and follow up with other internal departments
  • Contacting tax authorities and auditors while supporting local teams in tax audits
  • Being the main point of contact for Italy
  • Managing compliance processes of TAX (VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax, Local taxes) according to the activity split with Italy
  • Reviewing and preparing data for tax declarations, completion of forms and submission of required fiscal reports
  • Managing tax assessments and payment processes for all tax compliance processes
  • Taking care of tax accounting activities according to the activity split with Italy
  • Contributing to improve tax processes and the implementation of innovation and standardization
  • Ensuring an effective tax knowledge management by guiding, documenting and training other internal colleagues as required by the changes of legal requirements

Skills and relevant experiences you will need:

  • You have full professional proficiency in English and Italian
  • You have a degree in Accounting with tax specialization 
  • You have valuable experience in a similar position
  • You have solid knowledge of the relevant tax area, e.g. European VAT, Intrastat process or Tax Accounting
  • You have an advanced understanding of technical accounting and operational experience with SAP
  • You have strong communication skills and an ability to express complex tax issues in an understandable way
  • You have the ability to work under pressure with proven flexibility in changing and complex environments
  • You have strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint (knowledge of Excel macros would be a plus)
