Why Do We Keep Hiring AIESECer?

The “Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales” or better known as AIESEC (pronounced eye-sek) is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential and at the same time with over 37,661 members worldwide one of the largest non-profit student organization in the world.

90% of the people currently working at Blu Selection have AIESEC background or joined our team through their platform. So how does it come that we are mostly hiring people from AIESEC?

Passion for what they do

During my 2 years at AIESEC as Vice President of Incoming Exchange, I met a lot of people from all over the world who had one thing in common: Passion for what they do!

Passionate people are what makes your team strong and which has a positive impact on your clients and candidates. From all the interviews we had so far for our team, the ones who worked for AIESEC always stand out due to their passion for what they do.

We hire for personality, not just experience

Besides being passionate about what they do, AIESECers have the ability to empower others in what they do and to encourage them to take action.

Especially in a start-up environment as we have it at Blu Selection it is important to have a team that is empowering each other. We tend to hire people without work experience, but with the right personality, and encourage them to learn and grow here.

FAIL = First Attempt in Learning

AIESEC is telling you from the beginning that failing is not an issue as you learn from your mistakes and grow on them. This mentality we kept within our team as well. We are working in a human-to-human business where mistakes can happen. We empower our people to try things and see if it works out. If it fails, you learn from it and become a stronger person.

Have an impact — leave your footprint

We strongly believe that each member of our team, each trainee and everyone who joined Blu Selection in the past had a positive impact on us. We want to constantly improve and innovate our way of working. This is what AIESEC is offering each member who is joining one of the local committees in the world. They encourage you to try new things, to improve processes and share ideas with international people.

Work hard — Play Hard

Do you know what a roll-call is? Ever heard about AIESEC shouts? You should definitely take your time and have a look at one of the plenty of videos shared on YouTube. I am not saying that we are dancing and shouting in our office, but this so-called AIESEC culture is a perfect example of the work hard — play hard attitude AIESEC people and the Blu Team have in common.

The members of AIESEC work all on a voluntary basis and this is beside their studies. Many of them have as well student jobs besides and still manage to succeed in all 3. So who would not like to have someone in his team who has excellent time management and can handle several tasks at the same time?

Do you want to leave your footprints as well in our start-up?
